“The work seems to be good. My truck was fixed and seems to run strong. However, my truck took 4 days longer than expected to fix (including the weekend) and I received two different stories as to why it took so long. Either the communication was bad or one of the stories was used as a cover up to make it look like it wasn't the shop's fault. Also, I asked multiple times if they could check with the paint and body shop to see if they could correct my front bumper. I never heard back on this. Obviously, the work they do seems to be good based on the reviews but my experience was not the best. I spent a lot of money here and it's a bummer that I didn't leave feeling respected as a customer.
Update: I changed my review from 2 stars to 4. My check engine light turned on and my truck faced similar problems that it had when I originally took took it to get fixed. Paul kindly checked it out and solved the issue without charge. While I'm still disappointed about my first visit, I was very happy when I left the second time.”

They cam to us on a personal referral from a long time customer that supports numerous vehicles for a mid sized company with excellent results. We did NOT mention this 'connection' when we had a major problem with our work car 12 26 2013 and he along with his professional really resp. promptly to an odd problem, they got us to work on time and got to work on the problem. Had two small dents in the body of my car--leased--which are just big and deep enough that I worry they might not pass inspection upon the car's return. He thoroughly explained what he thought he would and wouldn't be able to do as far as restoring the car goes, and was candid and courteous throughout our conversation. He advised that the car might pass the inspection as is, and I was glad to have what seems an honest second opinion. Happy to have found this shop.”

“Was referred to them by AAA and was not disappointed. They diagnosed my problem (needed a new radiator) and gave me a quote within 15 minutes, and two hours later my car was fixed for a fair price. Paul even gave me a ride home while they worked on it. Definitely recommend these guys!”

“I am new to San Antonio and my AC was non-functional, I was told by a shop in FL that I needed a new AC kit at $2500. No one could refer an auto shop when I got here to San Antonio, so I contacted AAA. Still no help, because they gave me 5 shops on their list. I chose Paul D Hook only because its named after the owner and his reputation is more exposed that way. Jarrod was the technician and he explained 2 options to fix the problem and wouldn't know the final cost until he saw inside the AC unit. He called and told me the whole kit didn't need to be replaced, just the compressor, saved me $1500 (though Hooks quote for my car's AC kit was only $2000). Their honesty saved me some cash. Very up front and transparent.”
